Neil Speakman, a father from Bury, Greater Manchester, was jailed for 12 months after reversing into his three-year-old son, Albie, with a farm vehicle, causing fatal injuries. Although Speakman was cleared of gross negligence manslaughter, he admitted to breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act for failing to ensure Albie’s safety. The sentencing judge emphasized that caring for his son should have been the top priority and that the tragic incident could have been prevented.
