Military Plane Crash in Residential Area Kills at Least 46 in Sudan

A military aircraft crashed in a residential area of Sudan’s capital, killing at least 46 people, including passengers on the plane and residents on the ground. The Antonov cargo aircraft crashed while taking off from the Wadi Seidna air base, injuring at least 10 people in a nearby neighborhood, adding to the devastation of a city already ravaged by civil war and leaving millions vulnerable to famine. This incident is one of the deadliest plane crashes in Sudan’s recent history, amid ongoing conflict between the military and paramilitary forces in the country.
