Kathy Hochul to reverse a law protecting the identities of healthcare providers who prescribe the abortion pill mifepristone, citing patient safety concerns and the need for follow-up care. The group emphasizes the risks and complications associated with drug-induced abortions, calling for reconsideration of the law to ensure accessibility and proper medical oversight. Hochul signed the legislation following the indictment of a New York physician in Louisiana, allowing providers’ names to be omitted from abortion pill packaging, but AAPLOG contends this could hinder patient care and safety.
