Mediators have brokered a deal for the release of Palestinian prisoners and the handover of Israeli hostages’ bodies by Hamas under Egyptian supervision, with no specified release date. The Al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades will release the body of Israeli hostage Ohad Yahalomi on Thursday as part of the ceasefire deal, which also involves the release of 620 Palestinian prisoners and aims to ensure the safe return of Israeli captives without humiliating ceremonies. The ceasefire, in its first phase, has seen a decrease in violence despite accusations of violations by both sides, following a deadly attack in southern Israel and subsequent military offensive resulting in numerous casualties.
