The Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary group in Sudan’s civil war, hosted a political event in Nairobi to lay the groundwork for a breakaway government, led by deputy leader Abdul Rahim Dagalo. Despite facing accusations of genocide by the US, the R.S.F. aims to govern areas it controls, amidst ongoing violence and atrocities in Sudan. The group’s plan, supported by the UAE, could further divide the country and deepen the humanitarian crisis, as rival factions vie for power in a war-torn nation.
