Liverpool starlet Conor Bradley described his first international goal for Northern Ireland as a “dream come true” after scoring the winning goal against Scotland at Hampden Park.
Due to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury concerns, Bradley has recently become a regular for Liverpool at club level, impressing fans and pundits with his solid performances on the right-hand side of Jurgen Klopp’s defense.
Bradley has been playing senior international football for a while and made his 15th appearance for Northern Ireland in their friendly against Scotland.
Taking advantage of a defensive error from Scotland, Bradley scored his first international goal by curling the ball into the bottom right corner, securing a win for Michael O’Neill’s side.
Bradley described his goal as a dream come true.
“I’m thrilled. I’ve been dreaming of scoring my first international goal for a while,” said Bradley. “I didn’t expect it to be such a good goal, but I’m ecstatic that we got the win.
“It’s a confidence boost for our team. The last [Euro 2024 qualifying] campaign was tough, so beating a strong Scotland team full of Premier League players is a great achievement and will only help us.
“I remember we lost the ball and I tried to win it back quickly. It came to my feet, I took a touch, saw the far corner open up, and decided to take a shot. It deflected slightly and went into the top corner. Sometimes you need a bit of luck, and I’m grateful I had that.
“It was special to celebrate with the fans right next to me. Their support was outstanding throughout the game. They were amazing.
Bradley is expected to play for Liverpool this weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
