Jabateh was handcuffed, detained for 30 hours, indefinitely suspended, and banned from campus, reflecting a trend of harsher punishments against pro-Palestinian protesters as national politics in the US shift rightward. Legal support is being provided to Jabateh during the disciplinary process.
