The Red Sox signed Trayce Thompson, younger brother of NBA player Klay Thompson, to a minor-league contract for the 2025 season after he played in the Triple-A affiliates of the Mets and Cubs in 2024. Thompson, a 33-year-old outfielder, has played for five different MLB teams and has a career batting average of .212 with 45 home runs. Despite not playing in the big leagues since 2023, Thompson will provide added depth to the Red Sox’s farm system this season.
