Dozens killed in Mali illegal gold mine collapse

More than 40 people, mostly women, were killed in Mali after an illegal gold mine collapsed near Kéniéba in the Kayes region. This is the second deadly mining accident in three weeks in Mali, with conflicting reports on the number of victims. The collapse occurred at an abandoned site formerly operated by a Chinese company, highlighting the risks of unregulated mining activities in the country.
