Romance is in the Dumfriesshire air

Dumfriesshire’s Devil’s Porridge Museum is hosting a ‘Love and Porridge’ community gathering featuring documented love stories from HM Factory Gretna during WWI, followed by a ‘Love in Wartime’ exhibition with love stories and postcards on display. The museum showcases the history of the secret munitions factory that housed thousands of workers, including women, producing cordite for the war effort. The dangerous work was dubbed ‘the devil’s porridge’ and attendees can learn more about this history by booking a spot for the free event online.
