Russia aims to re-enter India’s light military helicopter market with the Kamov KA 226, now equipped with a new Russian engine, VK 650 V, to circumvent French sanctions. India requires over 400 light helicopters for various purposes, and while an indigenous Light Utility Helicopter is being developed, it may not be able to meet the significant demand on its own.
