Eight years after selling AppDynamics to Cisco, Jyoti Bansal is pursuing an unusual merger

Jyoti Bansal, who previously sold his software company AppDynamics to Cisco for $3.7 billion, is now leading two startups – Harness and Traceable – which are set to merge. The combined company will have 1,100 employees, $250 million in expected 2025 revenue, and a valuation of $5 billion. Bansal’s goal is to have an active stock ticker this time, as he felt unfulfilled after selling AppDynamics and started Big Labs to explore new startup ideas.
