Yiu Yu Hoi via Getty Images suggests a 24-hour challenge to avoid picking up your phone during moments of boredom and instead focus on the world around you. Many people feel embarrassed by their phone screen time and want to decrease it. Christine Rosen recommends a 24-hour exercise to not reach for your phone during brief pauses, known as “interstitial moments.” This exercise aims to increase awareness of the world around you and give your brain a break from constant stimulation. Setting boundaries with your phone, such as keeping it out of your bedroom, can also benefit your mental and emotional health.
