Egypt announced an emergency Arab summit on Feb. 27 to address “new and dangerous developments” following Trump’s proposal to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, which angered key Arab allies like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Both President el-Sissi and King Abdullah II rejected Trump’s idea, but Trump believes they will eventually accept it. Egypt will host the summit in Cairo at the request of the state of Palestine to discuss the concerning developments for the Palestinian cause.
