Egypt to host emergency Arab summit to discuss Palestinian developments

Egypt will host a summit of Arab leaders on Feb. 27 in response to a Palestinian request to discuss the “new and dangerous developments in the Palestinian issue” following President Trump’s proposals regarding Gaza. Arab states and Palestinian leaders have rejected Trump’s idea of relocating Gaza’s residents and creating a “Riviera of the Middle East.” Meanwhile, several countries condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s suggestion that Saudi Arabia has enough land for a Palestinian state, escalating tensions in the region.
