Kerr and her partner, Kristie Mewis, claimed the driver had left them feeling threatened and scared, but felt ignored by officers at Twickenham police station. Despite initially not meeting the threshold for charges, a second statement from PC Stephen Lovell led to Kerr being charged, with the striker maintaining that her comments were made out of fear and not racial animosity.
