The unprotected nuclear switchyards, vital for transmitting power from reactors, are at risk of devastating military attacks, impacting civilian life and energy grid resilience. Despite warnings and delays in building protections, the Energy Ministry’s foot-dragging has left Ukraine vulnerable to potential Russian strikes, risking power outages and safety risks at nuclear plants.
