Dr. Abdelaziz Mohammed-Seid reported a significant decrease in maternal and child mortality rates in Eritrea due to increased public awareness and improved healthcare services. In 2024, 1,719 pregnant women delivered their babies in health facilities, with awareness-raising activities and vaccination programs playing a crucial role in this success. Dr. Habteselasie Zerizgi highlighted the improvements in maternal health outcomes at Orotta Maternity Hospital and advised pregnant women to attend check-ups 8 to 12 times during their pregnancies for better health outcomes.
