The Bank of America Chicago Marathon reported a record-breaking $36 million raised by runners for charities in 2024, the highest fundraising total in the event’s history. The Charity Program, which allows runners to raise funds as part of their marathon journey, has raised over $358 million since its inception in 2002, with 217 charities participating and 17,000 runners expected in 2025. The 2024 marathon, set for Oct. 12, already has more than 160,000 applicants and is expected to draw over 53,000 participants, setting the stage for another record-breaking year.
