China’s Lunar New Year travel rush is in full swing, with billions of trips expected over the 40-day migration period, marking the start of the year of the snake in the lunar calendar. Trips by car will reach 9 billion, with 510 million by train and 90 million by air. While traditional family gatherings and fireworks displays are still observed, more affluent travelers are opting for overseas trips to destinations like South East Asia, Japan, and South Korea.
