Turkmenistan broadens cooperation with European businesses

In Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on March 20, discussions were held with representatives of the European business community to explore ways to enhance economic partnership, as reported by Trend.

During a working visit to Brussels, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, along with Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications Mammetkhan Chakiyev, engaged in separate meetings with various European organizations and companies.

The Turkmen Foreign Minister met with leaders from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Walloon Export and Investment Agency, as well as vice presidents from Philips and Picanol companies.

Simultaneously, Mammetkhan Chakiyev discussed collaboration with executives from the Port of Antwerp, Cargolux, Exagon Global BV, Royal IHC, and DEME.

The discussions focused on expanding current cooperation, providing equipment for different sectors in Turkmenistan, exploring potential projects, implementing digitalization and modern technologies, promoting entrepreneurship, and encouraging investment activities.

Potential plans to establish service centers for European companies in Turkmenistan were also explored to strengthen collaboration and enhance equipment maintenance.

Both parties highlighted the importance of sharing business and organizational expertise in fostering entrepreneurship and supporting Turkmenistan’s transformation process.

The strategic significance of advancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and European companies was emphasized, highlighting the exchange of knowledge and technologies that contribute to sustainable development for both sides.

Promoting innovation and establishing a conducive investment environment present new opportunities for economic growth and diversity in the region.
