Share of U.S. companies in China looking to relocate hits a record high, survey finds

A survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in China revealed that a record 30% of U.S. companies are accelerating their plans to relocate manufacturing or sourcing from China, surpassing previous highs. This shift is attributed to U.S.-China tensions, as well as the impact of Covid-19, which prompted China to close off from the world, leading to supply chain diversification. AmCham China’s president, Michael Hart, noted that this trend is likely to continue as companies seek to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
