PM vows to curb 'Nimby' legal blocks on infrastructure

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer vows to reduce legal challenges from Nimby “blockers” to streamline the construction of major infrastructure projects like nuclear power stations and wind farms. Proposed reforms include limiting challenges to once per project and requiring campaigners to convince a judge in person. Labour’s focus on planning reform aims to drive economic growth and deliver 1.5 million new homes in five years, with the government promising to make 150 major infrastructure project decisions by the next election.
