Mariano Rivera, wife accused of covering up child sex abuse at own home, church

A lawsuit in New York accuses Mariano Rivera and his wife, Clara, of ignoring the sexual abuse of a minor at their home and church. “Jane Doe” alleges she was abused by an older girl during a summer internship in 2018, and that the Riveras covered it up to protect their church’s reputation. Despite the allegations, Rivera was unanimously elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump.
