Fire breaks out on Auckland’s Māngere Mountain

A grass fire on Māngere Mountain in Auckland was 99 percent contained after seven crews fought the blaze near Domain Road, with firefighters preventing access to onlookers. Two crews stayed overnight, with more returning in the morning. Smoke filled the air, urging people to stay indoors on the western side of the mountain to allow crews to work.
