According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), blue has become one of the top three most popular car colours in Britain for the first time in 15 years, with 291,928 new cars registered in blue last year. White cars dropped to fourth place, while grey remained the most popular colour with a market share of 27.8%. The top colours seem to reflect the nation’s mood, with buyers opting for darker shades during less optimistic times and brighter colours during better times, although many still stick to safe choices like silver, grey, and black for their perceived resale value.
