The call occurred before the Supreme Court upheld a law banning TikTok in the U.S. Trump and Xi discussed issues like Taiwan, trade, the Russia-Ukraine crisis, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump expressed optimism about solving problems together with China. China will send Vice President Han Zheng as Xi’s special representative to Trump’s inauguration in hopes of managing differences and promoting healthy bilateral ties.
