Canadian man's home security camera captures the sight and sound of a meteorite strike

In July 2024, fragments of a meteorite hit a home in Prince Edward Island, Canada, startling the residents. Joe Velaidum and Laura Kelly found their walkway littered with debris, initially thinking it was from the roof. After reviewing security footage, they confirmed it was a meteorite strike. This event is believed to be the first time the complete sound of a meteorite hitting Earth has been recorded on video. Velaidum narrowly escaped being hit by the meteorite.
