Just days before president-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, preparations were being made for a ceremony funded by a record number of corporate donations from tech, AI, and crypto industries. The $170 million raised so far for Trump’s second inaugural fund has surpassed Biden and Obama’s totals, with companies like Boeing, Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Uber donating $1 million each. Other donors include Chevron, Goldman Sachs, Toyota, and Ripple, with contributions ranging from $1 million to $5 million. The donations are seen as a way to gain favour with the incoming administration and build relationships with key stakeholders for the next four years.
