The Treasury is in turmoil following the resignation of its anti-corruption minister and the appointment of Emma Reynolds, who previously lobbied for financial interests with China, as the new City minister. Reynolds, a former treasurer for the APPG on China and managing director at TheCityUK, reportedly campaigned to keep China off a transparency scheme last month. Despite concerns over her China links and accusations of Beijing spying on the Royal family, the prime minister’s spokesperson refused to confirm if Reynolds would be involved in decisions regarding China in her new role.
