South Korea’s acting leader accepts resignation of presidential security chief

South Korea’s acting leader accepted the resignation of the chief of the presidential security service, Park Jong-joon, amid allegations of obstructing justice in blocking law enforcement efforts to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol. Police plan a second attempt to bring Yoon into custody for a brief martial law declaration, while the Corruption Investigation Office and police have vowed to overcome resistance from the presidential security service. Yoon remains holed up at his official residence, with speculation that police may detain other leaders of the security service before executing the warrant against him.
