Despite the rise in participation, many eligible individuals are unaware of this option. The latest data shows a significant increase in self-collection swabs, but low awareness remains, particularly in diverse communities, as 72% of women diagnosed with cervical cancer have never screened or are not up to date, highlighting the importance of preventive measures to reduce the number of preventable deaths.
