Aaron Samson, 48, and his 83-year-old father-in-law escaped the Los Angeles wildfires with the help of two good Samaritans, fleeing their Pacific Palisades home without a car. Samson filmed their escape as they abandoned a vehicle, with flames and smoke surrounding them, but they were picked up twice by strangers and driven to safety in Santa Monica. The wildfires have devastated the area, destroying over 1,000 structures and claiming lives, with fire officials hoping calmer winds will aid in containment efforts.
