However, as of January 7, 2025, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the discontinuation of this system in favor of “Community Notes,” inspired by Elon Musk’s approach on X, due to concerns about political bias and trust issues. With this update, Facebook and Instagram will now allow users to participate in rating content and discussing controversial topics like gender and immigration in an effort to promote diverse perspectives and prevent biased views.
