In a recent operation against Left-wing Extremism (LWE) in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, four Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces, resulting in the death of a head constable of the District Reserve Guard (DRG). Union home minister Amit Shah has set a deadline of March 2026 to eradicate the red menace from all states, including Chhattisgarh. The encounter, led by the Special Task Force (STF) and DRG teams from multiple districts, recovered automatic weapons and led to ongoing search operations for further details.
