Tomiko Itooka, the world’s oldest person according to Guinness World Records, passed away at the age of 116 in Ashiya, Japan. Known for her love of bananas and Calpis, she became the oldest person last year and was a former volleyball player with a spirited personality. Survived by one son and one daughter, Itooka’s funeral was held with family and friends, with the title of the world’s oldest person now held by 116-year-old Brazilian nun Inah Canabarro Lucas.
