Judge orders Trump to be sentenced in hush money case

A judge has ordered President-elect Donald Trump to be sentenced on 10 January in his hush-money case in New York, less than two weeks before his inauguration. Judge Juan Merchan stated that Trump will not receive jail time and can appear in person or virtually for the hearing. The case involves Trump’s conviction in May on 34 felony counts related to a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
