Montenegro to tackle gun control after mass killing left 12 dead

A top-level meeting in Montenegro sought to address the issue of illegal weapons following a fatal shooting that claimed 12 lives, prompting calls for a new gun law and increased efforts to seize illegal firearms. The small Balkan country, which has a high number of illegal weapons per capita, recently experienced its second mass shooting in less than three years, with the gunman, Aco Martinović, using an illegal 9 mm gun to carry out the attack in Cetinje. The tragic incident has sparked concerns about violence in Montenegrin society, leading to calls for accountability and improved security measures to prevent future tragedies.
