Grieving relatives of the 179 victims of a fatal plane crash in South Korea paid respects on New Year’s Day, with only two survivors out of 181 onboard the Boeing 737-800 that crashed at Muan International Airport, skidding off the runway and bursting into flames. The victims, mostly South Koreans returning from Bangkok, were honored at the crash site by their families in a traditional memorial service, with authorities having completed the identification of all bodies and beginning safety inspections of all 101 Boeing 737-800s in the country following the investigation into the cause of the crash.
