Sudan conflict: ‘There cannot be a military solution to this war’

Ramtane Lamamra, the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy For Sudan, recently visited Sudan and Ethiopia, meeting with senior government officials and discussing efforts to bring peace to Sudan. Despite ongoing conflict, he emphasized the need for a ceasefire, inclusive political process, and international pressure on all parties involved to prioritize peace and end the suffering of the Sudanese people. Lamamra highlighted the importance of engaging with civil society and marginalized groups to achieve a sustainable resolution to the conflict.
