More than 170 people died in a Jeju Air plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea, with authorities investigating a possible bird strike and bad weather as causes. The Boeing 737-800, returning from Bangkok, skidded off the runway and crashed into a wall, erupting into flames, with reports suggesting a bird was stuck in the wing before the landing. The crash, the deadliest in South Korean history, resulted in 179 deaths, with experts questioning whether a bird strike alone could have caused the tragedy.
