Sweden embarks on a sober search for more cemetery space in case of war

Burial associations in Gothenburg, Sweden are acquiring land to bury thousands of people in the event of war, following recommendations from the Church of Sweden and crisis preparedness guidelines. The Goteborg Burial Association is seeking at least 10 acres of land to handle urgent casket burials for 30,000 dead, in addition to another 15 acres for regular use. Sweden’s decision to join NATO and tensions with Russia have heightened the need for civil preparedness, with the Church of Sweden leading the way in planning for potential conflicts.
