President-elect Donald Trump has asked the Supreme Court to delay the law banning TikTok until after his inauguration to find a political solution. The law is set to take effect on January 19, 2025, one day before Trump’s inauguration, which Trump’s attorney argues is “unfortunately timed.” Trump’s stance on TikTok has shifted from pursuing a ban in his first term to now wanting to negotiate a deal to save the platform, citing his dealmaking experience and social media platform Truth Social.
