Japan is increasing its defence budget to 8.7 trillion yen ($55 billion) by 2025 to enhance its strike-back capability with long-range cruise missiles amid escalating threats from North Korea, China, and Russia. Currently undergoing a five-year military buildup, Japan aims to spend over 115 trillion yen for its national budget bill and plans to double its military spending to become the world’s third-largest military spender. The new defence strategy includes deploying US-made Tomahawks and strengthening the missile defence system with additional purchases and upgrades.
