A ninth U.S. telecoms firm has been confirmed to have been hacked by Chinese hackers, giving officials in Beijing access to private texts and phone conversations of Americans, according to White House official Anne Neuberger. The hacking campaign, known as Salt Typhoon, targeted telecommunications companies to obtain call records and access private communications of individuals, including senior U.S. government officials and political figures.
