A new ransomware group called Interlock is targeting organizations with a focus on FreeBSD servers, using a unique encryptor designed specifically for FreeBSD. Interlock has already attacked six organizations, employing double-extortion tactics and demanding high ransoms. Security experts recommend deploying multi-layered security measures and minimizing standing privilege using the zero trust principle to prevent attacks on critical systems.
