In Tsunami Memorial Park in Ban Nam Khem, Thailand, visitors view a memorial wall with victims’ names from the 2004 tsunami that struck South and Southeast Asia after a 9.1 magnitude earthquake. Neungduangjai Sritrakarn, a survivor, recalls fleeing with her family as the tsunami approached, leaving devastation and loss in its wake. Despite the rebuilding efforts and return of tourists, reminders of the tragedy remain in Phang Nga, where thousands lost their lives and families were forever changed.
