Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman will not consider the Menendez brothers a package deal for resentencing, stating that he will evaluate each case separately. The brothers, who were convicted of murdering their parents in 1996, are seeking a new sentence following the emergence of new evidence including allegations of sexual abuse. Hochman is currently reviewing the case and speaking with his office before making a decision, while also removing deputy district attorneys who worked on the previous recommendation to downgrade the brothers’ sentence.

New York City gunman bought rifle from casino supervisor, police say
The gunman, Shane Tamura, 27, opened fire in a New York City skyscraper, killing four people, after purchasing the rifle from his casino supervisor in Las Vegas.
