Sarah Abdel Hamid al-Aami searches for her four brothers who were accused of terrorism under the Assad regime. Despite searching posters of dead bodies at Al-Mujtahid Hospital, she has not found any signs of them. Many families are desperately searching for loved ones who disappeared into Syria’s prison system during the civil war, with over 157,000 people missing. The families are looking through abandoned prison ledgers, posting missing fliers, and visiting prisons, hospitals, and morgues in search of their missing relatives.
