An expert witness refuted claims by Lucy Letby’s lawyers that he had changed his view on the cause of death of three babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital, calling the criticisms “unsubstantiated, unfounded, inaccurate.” Letby, serving 15 whole-life jail terms for murdering seven babies, has been denied permission to appeal her convictions twice. The Crown Prosecution Service stated that the court had previously rejected Letby’s argument that expert witness evidence presented by the prosecution was flawed.
